Die Zukunft findet nicht mehr statt

‘Die Zukunft findet nicht mehr statt’ was a concept created by Patrick Stevens, made for the very last Maschinenfest in Germany. A performance based upon the ‘Angelus Novus’ monoprint by Paul Klee and the essay that was written about it by Walter Benjamin. Philosophy about harsh realities in changing societies. The team that came together for this performance is the ever incredible dutch legendary hiphop producer Kubus on live electronics. Hypnoskull / Patrick Stevens providing some serious industrial noise. The beaten up angel, scenographer Rachid Laachir, his opponents, contemporary dance performers Audrey Apers and Jan Deboom, who made this so real that some tried to stop them, Pep Duvel was our guide, and filmdirector and video artist Ira A. Goryainova did the live cam for the transmission onto the big screen, with assistance of Michelle Molema.
